Britain's Kris Meeke and Norwegian driver Mads Ostberg set the pace at this morning's shakedown stage for Rally GB. The pair were equally quickest on the one-mile mixed surface stage, posting a time of 1m31.2s. But neither driver was about to read too much into their early pace.

Mini driver Meeke said: "The stage is not really representative of what's to come. It's a good start, but I'm not going to get carried away. We ended Catalunya on a high with the win on the power stage, but for here we're back to learning again. Don't forget, I haven't been here since 2006. My approach is to get to the end and learn the stages."

Meeke and M-Sport Ford driver Ostberg were 0.9sec ahead of World Rally Championship aspirant Sebastien Loeb, whose Citroen DS3 WRC was third quickest. Loeb's former teammate Dani Sordo (Mini) was fourth, just a tenth of a second down on the Frenchman.

Citroen's Sebastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala (Ford) were joint fifth this morning, while Matthew Wilson (Stobart Ford) was seventh, just ahead of Loeb's title rival Mikko Hirvonen's Ford.

Former Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen and American star Ken Block rounded out the top 10 shakedown times.
