McLaren has extended its sponsorship deal with Santander, meaning the banking giant's logos will continue to appear on the cars of two teams in 2011.

Although Santander has close ties with Ferrari because of Fernando Alonso's presence there, the bank has also wanted to capitalize on the British interest caused by Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button at McLaren amid a re-branding of its banking activities. That means it will continue its tie-up with McLaren, with its logos appearing on the drivers' overalls once again, as well as the helmets this year.

Ana Botin, Santander UK CEO, said: "We are delighted to sign an extension to our deal with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes.

"It is exciting to be able to continue working with Lewis and Jenson. The relationship we have built with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team and its drivers has been integral to creating and building the Santander brand in the UK. Without it, we would have not been able to re-brand to Santander last year."
