Class is in session for the Mazda Road to Indy ladder system this weekend in Indianapolis. For the second time this year, all four series – the pinnacle IZOD IndyCar Series, with the Firestone Indy Lights, Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear, and Cooper Tires USF2000 National Championship powered by Mazda are all running on the same weekend.

To celebrate, the entire fields for the three MRTI series gathered for a full class photo-op Friday morning at IMS (ABOVE).

Carb Day's Indy Lights race – won by Esteban Guerrieri – kicked off the festivities at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The action shifts to Lucas Oil Raceway on Saturday with the Night Before the 500 featuring Star Mazda and USF2000 on their first oval of the year, with USF2000 back in action for the first time since St. Petersburg at the end of March, and Star Mazda on track for the first time since Barber in April.

The capper comes Sunday with the 96thh Indianapolis 500, featuring a bevy of MRTI ladder system graduates. Friday was also a big day for Lights with the announcement of its new car for 2014.
