Felipe Massa completed six hours of running in Ferrari's simulator in Modena yesterday as he continued his recovery program in preparation for returning to Formula 1.
The Brazilian is working with the team all week in readiness for his first test since sustaining serious head injuries in a crash in Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying at the end of July. Massa is scheduled to test a 2007 Ferrari F1 car fitted with GP2 tires sometime after this week.
He was satisfied with his progress after the simulator session.
"We worked very well, without any problems," said Massa. "The simulator uses an A1GP single-seater, so it's not exactly like Formula 1, but pretty close. I drove on the track in Barcelona to avoid creating an even bigger test atmosphere."
While at the factory, Massa also took time to answer emails and messages of support from fans. He will resume running in the simulator today.
