The advantage at the Spa 24 Hours has swung back in Maserati's favor as the race enters its fifth hour.

The Selleslagh Racing Team Chevrolet Corvette had been leading going into the fourth hour, but a safety car period, caused by a multi-car shunt in the rain, eroded its advantage. Bert Longin then struggled for pace in the car and fell down the order.

Fellow Corvette racer Anthony Kumpen took up the running, but he was chased down by Stephane Sarrazin in the #1 Vitaphone Maserati. An aggressive move around the outside into the Bus Stop gave the MC12 the lead, and Sarrazin has now built up a lead of over 15 seconds.

The pace of the MC12s in the wet was underlined around the four-hour mark when Stephane Lemeret passed Kumpen for second, while Longin's struggles mean he is now over a minute behind the lead.

The fight for GT2 honors has got closer. Longtime leader the IMSA Porsche 911 lost much of its advantage behind the safety car, and a charging Niki Cadei (AF Corse Ferrari 430) is now fighting IMSA's Patrick Long for the category lead.

G2 continues to be dominated by the Audi R8 LMS, in seventh overall, while GT3 is currently led by the #121 Ford GT.
