Beijing Guoan's John Martin scored his second Superleague Formula victory of the day at Brands Hatch in England, coining in the €100,000 on offer for winning the Super Final.

Martin outdragged polesitter Duncan Tappy (Flamengo) into Paddock Hill Bend, and then pulled away from Davide Rigon (Anderlecht) and Tappy. Behind them, Craig Dolby had a big slide at Paddock and his Tottenham car was challenged by Alvaro Parente (Porto) at Druids. After a brush of wheels, Parente was sent into the gravel trap.

Crucially, however, Dolby's title rival Yelmer Buurman (AC Milan) was able to slip past while this was going on, and his fourth place finish extended his points lead over Dolby to two points.

Dolby, who also had another big slide at Clark Curve, had complained before the start that his car had picked up damage from the debris of Chris van der Drift's huge race two accident. Dolby finished fifth, ahead of Parente.

Martin won by 3.2sec, setting the race's fastest lap on his final tour.
