Scott MalvernRunaway British Formula Ford champion Scott Malvern, Formula Renault 3.5 race winner Kevin Korjus and Ferrari protégé Brandon Maisano head the list of newcomers in GP3 testing at Catalunya this week.

Malvern, who took 18 wins from 24 rounds in British FFord this season, will drive for the Status team at the Spanish track in Tuesday and Wednesday's sessions. Estonian Korjus will test Tech 1's GP3 car, having already driven for the team in FR3.5 this year, taking three wins and finishing sixth in the championship in his rookie season.

Ferrari Driver Academy member Maisano was fourth in Italian Formula 3 this year, and will test for Jenzer.

Fellow F3 drivers Daniel Abt and Carlos Huertas – from the Euro and British series, respectively – are also trying GP3, Abt with ART and Huertas with his F3 squad Carlin. Addax will test Superstars race winner Michela Cerruti, the 24-year-old Italian becoming the first female driver to test a GP3 car.

The GP3 test entry also features several series regulars. Mitch Evans (MW Arden), Nick Yelloly (Atech CRS), Matias Laine (Manor) and Maxim Zimin (Jenzer) stick with their usual teams, while Aaro Vainio switches from Tech 1 to ART, Marlon Stockinger from Atech CRS to Status, Gabby Chaves from Addax to Manor, and Tamas Pal Kiss from Atech CRS to Tech 1.
