Force India team principal Vijay Mallya has had an arrest warrant issued against him withdrawn following the settlement of a dispute over payments.
The dispute involves more than $2 million of service charges, and Hyderabad Airport had gone to court and succeeded in having an arrest warrant put out against Mallya. However, just a few days after that development, the company that owns the airport has called a halt to its proceedings following a payment settlement.
The Press Trust of India quoted one of the lawyers representing Hyderabad Airport as confirming the matter was now over.
J.B. Chenna Keshava Rao said: "The case (against Kingfisher and Mallya) has been withdrawn. They asked us to withdraw the case after which we informed the court about withdrawal of the case which has been agreed upon."
