Malcolm WilsonFord team director Malcolm Wilson has been named in the Queen's Birthday Honours and will be admitted to the Order of the British Empire for services to motorsport.

Wilson, 53, will receive his honor from the Queen at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in London later this year.

"I'm humbled by this," said the former British Rally champion. "It's incredible. I've spent 30 years working in the sport and to be recognised like this is amazing.

"But it's not just me, it's everybody around me, my family and everybody at M-Sport and in the Ford team who have helped to achieve this. OBE, that's the icing on the cake isn't it."

Ian Slater, vice president, communications and public affairs for Ford of Europe, added: "I'm delighted that Malcolm's achievements have been recognised. He joins a very select group of British motorsport heroes in this way.

"This is a proud day for all of us and especially Malcolm's family and all the committed people at M-Sport."
