Kevin Magnussen (son of former Formula 1 driver Jan Magnussen) will make his GP2 test debut with Carlin at Barcelona this week.
The Danish teenager, who was the runner-up in British Formula 3 this year with Carlin, will drive for the team on both days of the test following an impressive outing in its Formula Renault 3.5 car at the same track last week.
"We know that Kevin is a very quick driver around Barcelona. It will be very interesting how quickly he adapts to the demands of the GP2 car over the two days," said team boss Trevor Carlin.
Magnussen will be joined on Wednesday by Max Chilton, who raced for the team in GP2 this year. Jolyon Palmer, who spent the season with Arden, will take over the second car on Thursday.
"Max will continue the great development we began in Jerez to make us even stronger next year," Carlin added. "It will be good to have another experienced GP2 racer like Jolyon in the car and we look forward to his feedback."
