Ford's factory World Rally team M-Sport will run an extra Ford Fiesta this season for Dennis Kuipers.
The 25-year-old Dutchman will compete under the FERM Power Tools World Rally Team name – which has been registered as a manufacturers' points-scoring team in its own right – in 11 of the 13 events, beginning with the season opener in Sweden next month. Kuipers campaigned a Fiesta S2000 for M-Sport in eight rallies in 2010, with a best result of ninth overall in Turkey.
"I'm very happy to join the FERM Power Tools World Rally Team for 2011," he said. "2010 was a very educational year and we had some good results. I feel the experience we gained with the Fiesta S2000 was excellent preparation for driving the new Ford Fiesta RS WRC. I'm really looking forward to this year."
M-Sport boss Malcolm Wilson added: "It's a real pleasure to welcome FERM Power Tools World Rally Team into the M-Sport family and the WRC for 2011. Dennis produced a series of consistently strong results in the Ford Fiesta S2000 in 2010 and showed considerable progression throughout the year.
"He was a joy to work with last year and I look forward to working with him and the new team for what promises to be a successful season."
