Rick Huseman Memorial Race and Fundraiser
The off-road community is coming together at Pole Position Raceway in Corona on Thursday, Oct. 27 for a memorial for Rick and Jeff Huseman, killed in a private plane crash on Oct. 16 near Barstow, and a fundraiser to benefit Rick's wife Michelle and son Ricky.
Beginning at 6 p.m., some of the nation's best off-road racers are expected to attend, including Ricky Johnson, Brian Deegan Carl Renezeder, Scott Douglas, Johnny Greaves, Rob MacCachren, Kyle LeDuc, rally star Ken Block and others. Many auction items have been donated, including BFGoodrich tires, a Toyota TRD Supercharger, a pair of autographed Jimmie Johnson gloves, seats and other safety equipment from MasterCraft, a pass to the Skip Barber Racing School, plus a ton of off-road and racing gear.

Championship battles down to the wire
While we'll never know how the Pro 4 Unlimited championship might have played out, and with Renezeder on the verge of a championship he'd rather have fought Huseman for, there are still raging battles in all the classes with three races left.
Renezeder had a tough weekend in Pro 2 in Rounds 11 and 12 at Speedworld Off Road Park in Surprise, Ariz., and not only watched Deegan extend his points lead, but also saw MacCachren demote him to third in the championship standings. MacCachren had a great weekend at Surprise, scoring a second and a win. It didn't help the defending champ close on Deegan much, though, because Deegan scored a first and a third.
Deegan (ABOVE) had an even better couple of days in Pro Lite to bring him within six points of Chris Brandt with three rounds left. This is one of the smallest championship margins in LOORRS at the moment. Only Super Lite is closer, with Chad George a mere four points ahead of Patrick Clark. RJ Anderson could still overtake them both with less than 30 points separating him and George.
Justin Smith's run of great finishes in Pro Buggy ended with Round 12, leaving him 30 points behind Mike Porter for that championship. It's a gap that's easily overcome, though, with three rounds to go. But so are the 19- and 20-point gaps behind Smith to Jerry Whelchel and Doug Fortin, respectively, locked in a virtual tie for third.
Curt Geer has 540 points in Limited Buggy to Dave Mason's 525 and Quentin Tucker's 524. Corry Weller continues to lead in SR1 UTV, but John Dempsey, Doug Mittag, Code Rahders and Dan Kelly aren't far behind, with only a 35-point spread in the top five. Unlike in Super Lite, RJ Anderson has a nice lead over Chad George in Unlimited UTV with an 18-point gap.
The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series resumes action on Nov. 4-6 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Lucas Oil Purchases MAVTV
Already one of MAVTV's key shareholders, Lucas Oil Products has taken full control of the cable television network. The company says it plans to make a significant financial investment to upgrade the quality of programming.

MAVTV becomes part of the Lucas Oil Studio family, which already produces 350 hours of motorsports and lifestyle television programming annually.
MAVTV broadcasts Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series events in addition to other Lucas programming and other motorsports and lifestyle shows geared primarily toward men.
