Jorge Lorenzo hopes Aragon will be the worst track for Yamaha this year after struggling to get anywhere near the Hondas at the Motorland circuit.

The MotoGP champion finished 14 seconds behind winner Casey Stoner in third place today, and said he had to celebrate that result as it was the absolute maximum he could have achieved with Yamaha's package.

"The third position was the best position we could get today, and we made it," said Lorenzo. "To finish third is a fantastic result so I want to enjoy it with the people who came here and cheered for us."

The Aragon downturn came just a fortnight after Lorenzo had appeared to reignite his title charge by winning at Misano. He is now 44 points behind Stoner in the standings again, but is optimistic that he will be much closer to the Hondas' pace at other tracks.

"We passed from the glory of Misano to the total disaster this weekend," Lorenzo said. "Maybe this track is the worst track for the Yamaha. We struggled a lot, with [wheel] spinning mainly."
