Rolex 24 at Daytona GT class champions Magnus Racing have added Patrick Long to its driver lineup at the Grand-Am Rolex Series' Sahlen's Six Hours at the Glen, alongside team owner John Potter and co-driver Andy Lally.
Long – the lone American factory Porsche pilot – races primarily in the American Le Mans Series with Flying Lizard Motorsports. Lally drove for FLM at this year's Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, in the sister car to the one Long was driving. The two drove together to another Daytona class win in 2009.
“The entire Magnus Racing organization has done a great job in its first few years of racing,” stated Long. “They're known for having fun, but their victory at this year's Rolex 24 proves they provide a quality product. It's made of a great crew, fantastic engineering, and a terrible PR writer, I really look forward to joining the team.”
The second half of Long's quote was meant to credit the often tongue-in-cheek, colorful press releases Magnus is known for. Magnus searches for its second win of the season at Road America this weekend.
