Alex LloydAlex Lloyd is eyeing a drive at Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing after leaving his role as IndyCar test driver at Chip Ganassi Racing.

The 24-year-old Briton has been with Ganassi since winning IndyCar's feeder category, the Indy Pro Series, in 2007 but his only races in the series have been in the last two Indy 500s.

Newman/Haas drafted in Spaniard Oriol Servia for a one-off appearance at Mid-Ohio last weekend, but the seat is available for the rest of the season.

"We've been talking to teams about 2010, but it would be great to get experience heading into the off-season," Lloyd told AUTOSPORT. "We kept working for something there [Ganassi] but nothing materialised like we'd hoped. There were a lot of disappointments out of my control and leaving Ganassi means I can jump in a car if a chance comes up."
