Tonio Liuzzi will lose five places on the grid for the Singapore Grand Prix following his accident at the start of the Monza race. The HRT driver lost control of his car under braking for the first corner, going onto the grass and hitting the cars going through the chicane at the time when he rejoined the track.
Liuzzi, as well as Nico Rosberg and Vitaly Petrov retired on the spot, with other drivers like Sebastien Buemi or Rubens Barrichello damaging their cars. The stewards decided after the race to impose a five-place grid penalty for Liuzzi for the next race.
The Italian had started from last position at Monza.
