Left off the provisional calendar, it now turns out Lime Rock Park will be hosting a round of the Grand-Am Rolex Series in 2012 after all – and the season finale at that.

The race moves to the fall from its previous date in May, and the two-hour, 45-minute event will conclude the 13-race schedule on Saturday, Sept. 29. The supporting Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge will split its two divisions, GS and ST, into separate two-hour and 30-minute events.

“Lime Rock adds yet another layer of tradition to our 2012 schedules,” said Grand-Am President Tom Bledsoe. “This will be the finishing touch to a full season of racing at history-rich venues.”

The two-day event runs Sept. 28-29 at the northeast Connecticut seven-turn, 1.5-mile road course, Grand-Am's eighth appearance at the circuit.
