Fabio Leimer will drive for Racing Engineering in this year's GP2 Series. The 22-year-old Swiss finished 14th in last year's championship with Rapax and has won races for the past two seasons.
He tested for Racing Engineering at the end of 2011 and then took victory at the non-championship GP2 final at Yas Marina with the Spanish team.
"I am extremely happy I could sign an agreement with the Racing Engineering team and to participate with them in the 2012 GP2 Series," Leimer said. "I felt already very comfortable with the team during the first tests. During these tests in Jerez and Barcelona, but also the races in Abu Dhabi we were very competitive, and if we work like this during the 2012 season, then I am convinced we will be quite high up in the final standings of the championship.
