Jari-Matti Latvala's performance in the Rally Finland has been hampered by an illness that has left him nauseous while driving this morning.
The Ford driver has been ill since waking up at 4am local time this morning, but has managed to hang on to his current fourth place.
"He was sick in the car on the way to the first stage," said Latvala's co-driver Miikka Anttila. "In the first stage there were lots of rolling crests in the middle of the stage, and he said 'I think the food is coming out'.
"We got to the end and obviously the adrenaline kicked in a bit. The other stages were not as bad."
The Ford team doctors believe Latvala has contracted a 24-hour bug rather than food poisoning. He was given rehydration salts and appropriate food at the service break and cleared to continue.
