Jari-Matti Latvala has lost nine minutes on the opening stage of leg two in Turkey, having rolled just after the start of the morning's action.
The Ford number two clipped a bank even before the first timing split on the Gocbeyli stage, putting his Focus on its roof. He was eventually able to get the car upright and rejoin, but has now fallen outside the top 10. Latvala felt his pace notes for the corner where the accident happened might have been inaccurate.
"Right at the beginning of the start, I had in notes that it was flat over a crest," Latvala explained. "I went flat-out as the notes were saying but it was tightening a little bit. I started off sideways, thought I could take it back, but there was just a little bank. I basically had a little impact and then rolled over."
Citroen Junior driver Sebastien Ogier continues to lead overall after the stage, and has pulled slightly further away from pursuers Dani Sordo (Citroen) and Mikko Hirvonen (Ford).
