Jan LammersFormer Le Mans 24 Hours winner Jan Lammers is to return to the race this year with Hope Racing's hybrid LMP1 car.

The 54-year-old Dutchman won the event with Jaguar in 1988, but has only raced sporadically in recent years, and has not appeared at Le Mans since 2008. Lammers will share Hope's ORECA-Lehmann 01 with Steve Zacchia and another yet to be confirmed driver.

In addition to Le Mans, Lammers will make his debut with the team in the next round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and Le Mans Series at Spa next weekend.

Hope failed in its first attempt to pass the test that will allow it to run at Le Mans, being unable to complete the mandatory 400-meter distance using stored kinetic energy when testing at Le Mans last weekend. It will get another chance to complete the test.
