Andy Lally has already won one endurance race in 2012 with the No. 44, and will be seeking to do likewise in another race and with the similar number.
Lally, who won the Rolex 24 at Daytona in the GT class with John Potter, Richard Lietz and Rene Rast in the Magnus Racing Porsche, joins Flying Lizard Motorsports for the 12 Hours of Sebring. Lally will race alongside Flying Lizard team principal Seth Neiman and Darren Law in one of the team's new Porsche 911 GT3 RSRs.
The team's sister No. 45 will feature an all-pro lineup of full season drivers Jorg Bergmeister and Patrick Long, alongside another Porsche factory driver in Marco Holzer. Holzer has been confirmed for the season as Neiman's regular co-driver in the No. 44 car, with Law driving when available in non-Rolex Series weekends.
“Marco Holzer has proven to be a highly consistent driver; he contributed a great deal to our 2011 program,” said Thomas Blam, Flying Lizard chief strategist. “He will be a very solid addition to Jorg and Patrick in the No. 45 for Sebring. In the No. 44, we have an All-American lineup with Seth, Darren and Andy. This will be Andy's first time driving with the Lizards but he has a proven performance record in Porsches and brings a wide breadth of endurance racing experience.”
Lally's Magnus Racing team is not expected to run any ALMS races, as they have sporadically in 2010 and 2011, to instead focus solely on the Rolex Series season.
