Lada PrioraLada will introduce just one of its new Priora cars in the next round of the World Touring Car Championship at Porto.

The new model, based on the current 110, will be raced in Portugal by a new driver to the Russian Bears Motorsport team, believed to be two-time British Touring Car champion and past WTCC runner-up James Thompson. Jaap van Lagen and Kirill Ladygin will step up to the new model for the following round at Oschersleben.

Team principal Viktor Shapovalov, who will stand down from driving duties to make way for Thompson, said: "We're very much looking forward to the debut of our new car.

"Of course, it is still right at the very beginning of its development program, so we still have a lot of work ahead of us. But the experience that our new driver brings will help us to continue making progress, as we steadily improve the car over the course of the season."
