NASCAR star Kyle Busch was ticketed for careless and reckless driving after deputies clocked him doing 128mph in a 45mph zone Tuesday near Troutman, N.C., according to the Statesville Record and Landmark.

Citing local police, the newspaper reported that the Busch had been pulled over while driving a yellow Lexus sports car traveling nearly three times the posted speed limit. Busch was cited for careless and reckless driving and speeding, according to the report.

Under North Carolina traffic laws, reckless driving is a misdemeanor that requires a mandatory court appearance. A conviction can bring the loss of up to four points on a driver's license, suspension of a license for up to 12 months, and fines of up to $1,000.
