IndyCar team KV Racing Technology has been fined an undisclosed amount after Tony Kanaan's car failed a post-race technical inspection at Long Beach two weeks ago.
The series said in a statement that Kanaan's car was found to be in breach of rule 14.7.2 of the IndyCar rulebook, which states: "The maximum capacity of the fuel cell shall be 18.5 gallons."
Kanaan achieved a season-best result of fourth in the race, after starting 19th.
Meanwhile, the dispute about Honda's planned turbo change will be settled at a hearing on Thursday in Indianapolis, where a three-person panel selected by president of competition Beaux Barfield will hear General Motors' protest of IndyCar's April 18 decision to approve rival Honda's use of a 0.74 A/R compressor cover for the single turbocharger.
