Heikki Kovalainen will return to Formula 1 testing at Barcelona on Friday.
The Finn was due to undertake driving duties on Thursday, but fell ill with food poisoning following a trip to a sponsor event in Finland. Caterham instead called up his teammate Vitaly Petrov to drive at short notice.
Kovalainen said he was feeling much better by the afternoon and posted on Twiter: "Stomach feeling better, only some temperature now, hopefully fighting the bug off."
A Caterham spokesman confirmed that Kovalainen would return to driving duties on Friday and Saturday before handing the car back to Petrov.
