Yung Cho Chung collects the FIA promoters' award for KoreaThe Korean Grand Prix organizers received an award for being the season's top race promoters at the FIA's Prize Gala in Monaco yesterday evening.

The inaugural event went ahead successfully despite doubts over the Yeongam circuit's readiness in the build-up. An FIA statement said the award "recognizes the state-of-the-art Korean International Circuit, which hosted its inaugural grand prix this year."

The Korea Automobile Racing Association's Yung Cho Chung said: "It is a great honor to receive this award on behalf of all of those involved in the first Korean Grand Prix.

"I sincerely thank all of the people who helped to make the event such a success, leading to us receiving this wonderful trophy this evening."

Abu Dhabi also received an FIA award, with the Abu Dhabi Media Company and Formula One Management receiving the Race Broadcaster's Trophy, given to the broadcaster whose coverage was deemed the best of the season.
