Former grand prix driver, A1GP race winner and new NASCAR racer Narain Karthikeyan is to race in this season's Superleague Formula.
The 33-year-old Indian is also contesting several NASCAR Camping World Truck events this year in a bid to break into the NASCAR scene. He most recently raced in the Le Mans Series with Kolles Audi.
Karthikeyan is the first driver from outside the Netherlands to drive the PSV Eindhoven car, which was occupied by Yelmer Buurman, Dominick Muermans and Carlo van Dam during the first two seasons of the championship. But team manager Jan Lammers said PSV Eindhoven had been keen to sign a foreign driver for the 2010 campaign.
"One of the main reasons for PSV joining Superleague Formula was to globalize their exposure," he said. "By contracting Narain and not specifically choosing a Dutch driver they are complying with this objective."
