Just a few weeks after acknowledging the KV Racing-SH Racing entry of Tony Kanaan could go sponsorless for the June IndyCar Series events televised by ABC, HIPPINO.com has stepped up and signed on to back the Brazilian for the doubleheader at Detroit. The 2004 IndyCar Series champion will sport yet another distinctive livery during the June 1-2 event at Belle Isle as he represents the mobile technology company's first foray into the series.
"No question this is a really, really cool app, and the fact that HIPPINO is donating $1 to cancer awareness for every fan that downloads it is even better," said Kanaan. "I hope my fans get behind this, because it's for a great cause."
SH Racing principal James “Sulli” Sullivan has brought numerous first-time IndyCar sponsors to the series since joining forces with the Kevin Kalkhoven- and Jimmy Vasser-owned KV team, adding HIPPINO.com to Hydroxycut, No-Xplode, BSN and other companies that have adorned the Chevy-powered No. 11 entry.
“When we first caught wind of the concept, we immediately knew the HIPPINO mobile app was a game changer and would be a great service to the IndyCar fan base across the country," he said. "IndyCar fans recognize great deals when they see them and with HIPPINO they'll be the first to know from the merchants that matter to them. The HIPPINO machine is one bad race car that's sure to be a fan favorite.”
The Detroit-themed partnership between HIPPINO and KV/SH will see proportions of each transaction completed through the brand's mobile app donated to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
