British team Jota Sport will run a factory-backed GT2 Aston Martin Vantage in the Le Mans Series next season. The outfit, which was set up in 2008 by businessman Simon Dolan – an investor in Twitter – has raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and is targeting an entry in the 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours. Jota will also run a GT4 Aston Martin in this season's 24-hour races at Spa and Silverstone.

Dolan will be joined in both the GT4 and GT2 cars by Aston Martin Racing driver and Jota co-owner Sam Hancock.

"Since we formed Jota Sport, our aim has been to build a team capable of running multiple international racing programs," said Hancock. "We are now set to realize that ambition with one of the world's most prestigious manufacturers, which is incredibly exciting news for the team."

Aston Martin Racing's commercial director, Tony Schulp, added: "Jota is an up and coming team which has already proved its racing credentials.

"With their drive and ambition they are a perfect partner for Aston Martin Racing and will represent the marque professionally in race series across Europe."
