AC/DC's Brian Johnson and Byron DeFoor – recent Can-Am winner at the Monterey Historics – are teaming up with a pair of multi-time winners for their debut in the 2012 Rolex 24 At Daytona.

Johnson, a very serious vintage racing competitor, and DeFoor will co-drive a Riley Daytona Prototype prepared by Predator Performance for their Grand-Am debut. Joining them at the 50th anniversary of the Daytona classic will be former overall winners Elliott Forbes-Robinson and Jim Pace. A third driver is expected to be announced in the near future.

Forbes-Robinson – better known as "EFR" – scored overall victories in the Rolex 24 with Dyson Racing in 1997 and 1999, and won the SR class for the team in 2000. His 22 starts in the Rolex 24 include finishing fifth in the 1977 classic, co-driving a Ferrari 365 Daytona with Paul Newman. He has four Rolex Series victories, including three Daytona Prototype triumphs co-driving with Butch Leitzinger in 2004 and 2005.

Pace shared the overall victory with Wayne Taylor and Scott Sharp in 1996. The 13-time Rolex 24 competitor also won the GTU class in his first outing, running in Peter Uria's Mazda RX-7 in 1990.

Customers of Predator Performance in Largo, Fla. – near Johnson's home in Sarasota – recently purchased Riley Chassis No. 31 from Steve Southard, who raced the car in 27 Rolex Series races. Power for the new car, which raced as a BMW for Southard, is yet to be determined.

Predator Performance will run the car as a partner to 2007 Rolex 24 GT winner Alegra Motorsports, their frequent partners in vintage events.

Predator Performance has been a leader in vintage racing for many years, winning numerous endurance championships as well as being multi-time finishers of the 2,100-mile La Carrera Panamericana.

DeFoor, a Chattanooga, Tenn., businessman, owns and races numerous high-horsepower Can-Am racecars and BMW GT cars.

Johnson has been the front man and lead singer for powerhouse AC/DC since 1980. His first album, Back in Black, became the best selling album by any band, selling 22 million albums in the United States and 49 million worldwide.

Johnson does as many Historic Sportscar Racing events as his touring schedule allows, racing a Royale RP4 and a Can-Am Lola among other vintage cars.
