Jenzer Motorsport will promote Patric Niederhauser into its GP3 Series lineup for 2012.
The 20-year-old from Switzerland has driven for Jenzer throughout his two-year car racing career so far, mainly in Formula Abarth in Italy, where he finished runner-up in 2010 before claiming last year's title and second in the European standings.
Jenzer had already announced that Niederhauser's 2011 team-mate Robert Visoiu would make the same step from Formula Abarth to GP3 with it. Both men tested Jenzer's GP3 machinery during the winter.
The team took Nico Muller to top four places in the GP3 championship standings for the past two seasons.
