Narain Karthikeyan still hopes to play his part in the Le Mans 24 Hours despite dislocating his shoulder just before the start.

Karthikeyan was due to drive the first stint in the #14 Kolles Audi R10 but slipped while trying to jump over the pit wall.

"I was trying to go and take a leak," Karthikeyan told AUTOSPORT. "I jumped up on to the pit wall but slipped and ended up hanging by one hand. I can't believe it."

Karthikeyan is still in his overalls, with his left arm in a sling.

"I really want to be able to drive. We're just going to leave it a few hours and see how it feels then."
