Silverstone 1000kmsThe first installment of the calendar for next year's Intercontinental Le Mans Cup has been released. The provisional schedule incorporates the majority of the races announced when the series was launched during Le Mans 24 Hours week in June. These include the Sebring 12 Hours, the Le Mans 24 Hours and the Spa and Silverstone Le Mans Series events.

An extra round in Europe, scheduled for July at an undisclosed venue, has been provisionally added because there are now likely to be two rather than three flyaway rounds at the end of the season. One of the races outside Europe is penciled in for October – and could be Petit Le Mans as planned.

Problems scheduling the Road Atlanta event, set for Oct. 1, around the championship's return to China in November is the reason why it has yet to be confirmed. Discussions with Fuji, which was scheduled to host a race next year, are still ongoing.

The Le Mans test day, which is returning after a two-year absence, will take place on April 24.
