Houston Chronicle reports that Mi-Jack Promotions is close to a deal with the Indy Racing League that would revive the street-course race at the Texas city's Reliant Park in October 2011.
“We have a handshake deal with the IndyCar Series, and both sides are working toward a deal that would have Houston on the schedule in 2011,” said Chuck Kosich, general manager of Mi-Jack Promotions. “The IRL wants to be here in the worst way.”
Houston last hosted a Champ Car event in 2007, but was among the events culled from the schedule following Champ Car's unification with the Indy Racing League in 2008.
