The decision on the next-generation IndyCar chassis is progressing, but will not meet the original deadline of June 30.
Series CEO Randy Bernard appointed a seven-man committee to advise on the future direction of IndyCar, but he is not expecting a final decision to be made as early as next week, as was originally planned.
"I don't think we will have a completed decision, but we are making great progress," said Bernard. "We'll be close – no more than a month from now, we will be done."
Proposals from DeltaWing, Swift, Lola, BAT and Dallara are currently being considered.
