Rain at IndianapolisThe second day of full-field practice for the Indianapolis 500 has been called off due to rain at the speedway.

The session was due to start at midday local time, but with the track wet and no sign of conditions improving sufficiently, the decision was made to abandon the day altogether.

Under this year's format, practice is scheduled to be held for six hours each day through to next Friday, before qualifying takes place across the weekend.

Saturday's opening practice day – which also featured stoppages for rain – saw Ed Carpenter set the fastest time on his debut with Sarah Fisher Racing, though many of the big teams chose to only complete a handful of shakedown laps.
