Ryan Hunter-Reay IndyCar Andretti Long Beach 2012Ryan Hunter-Reay set the quickest time in an incident-filled final warm-up session ahead of Sunday's IZOD IndyCar Series race at Long Beach.

The Andretti Autosport driver topped the charts with a 1m09.4724s lap, 0.9sec better than his closest rival Scott Dixon (Ganassi). But four red flags punctuated the session, the final being caused by polesitter Dario Franchitti (Ganassi) becoming the latest victim of the barrier at Turn 5.

Dragon Racing's Katherine Legge hit the tires at the same spot a few minutes earlier, also bringing out a red flag. Four cars have now been caught out at the same spot so far this weekend. The other stoppages were triggered by Sarah Fisher Hartman driver Josef Newgarden, who shot down an escape road, and Takuma Sato, who spun to a halt at the exit of Turn 8 in his Rahal Letterman Lanigan car.

Rubens Barrichello (KV Racing) was third fastest ahead of Penske's Will Power, KV's EJ Viso and Penske's Ryan Briscoe.
