Nico Hulkenberg will begin work as Force India's reserve next week when he drives for the team at the start of testing at Valencia.
The German, who was confirmed at the Silverstone-based team on Wednesday, will get his first taste of the VJM03 car on the first morning of testing on Tuesday, the team said.
Teammate Paul di Resta, also confirmed as a race driver for the team yesterday, will take over in the afternoon and will continue testing on Wednesday. Adrian Sutil is expected to drive the car on Thursday.
Force India has yet to announce when it will test its new car for the first time.
