The Honda team will not replace Dani Pedrosa in this weekend's British Grand Prix, despite the Spaniard missing a second successive race through injury.
Pedrosa was forced to skip last weekend's race in Barcelona and was hoping to return to action this weekend following his collarbone injury. Speculation had arisen that Honda would replace him with Hiroshi Aoyama at Silverstone, with Kosuke Akiyoshi taking the latter's Gresini ride The team said on Tuesday, however, that only Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso will be racing this weekend in Britain.
"It's very disappointing not to have Dani present again this weekend, but this is his decision and I just wish him all the best at this difficult time," said Stoner.
