A huge crowd welcomed short course racing back to Southern California as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series arrived at Glen Helen Raceway.

It takes a lot of confidence to wear a shirt with a picture of your truck and the words, "American Badass" emblazoned on it. Rob MacCachren has earned that confidence.

For him and his family, racing isn't a hobby, or even a job; it's a career, a lifestyle.

Short course off-road races are short in duration as well - usually less than 30 minutes and somewhere around 20 miles - so the tires don't have to be long-lasting, just tough.

"I like driving a little wild, as long as I feel I'm in control," Huseman says.

Although he spent his formative years in Southern California, Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series ace Chris Brandt loves living in the Midwest; it just makes for a long commute to his second job.

It was a weekend that Rodrigo Ampudia will remember forever, one that Carl Renezeder would probably just as soon forget and for Rick Huseman it was business as usual as the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series made its debut at Utah's Miller Motorsports Park.

Tooele, Utah may not have the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas, but it does have Miller Motorsports Park, host of Rounds 7 and 8 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.
