The Hispania Racing team said the mechanic injured during the Italian Grand Prix is expected to leave the hospital soon.
The mechanic was injured after being knocked down by a wheel from Sakon Yamamoto's car during a pit stop at the Monza eight days ago. He was taken to the circuit's medical center and then to the hospital with a concussion and an injured rib.
The team said on Monday that he was recovering positively and that he is expected to be able to leave the Italian hospital soon to travel to Germany, his home country.
