Citroen's Mikko Hirvonen says his testing accident last month will not slow his pace at all in this week's Rally New Zealand.
The Finn crashed the test DS3 WRC heavily in Italy after he completed 60 miles and one day of his planned two-day pre-NZ test.
"I got some miles done," said Hirvonen, "so it wasn't so bad. But the crash was OK, I'm not worried about it at all. It's going to happen again – let's just hope it doesn't happen here this weekend."
Hirvonen is still chasing his first win in the DS3 WRC and admitted the increase in pace from the last round in Greece to the super-fast North Island roads had taken a little time to adjust to.
"It always takes a little time to get the head around these really fast places like here and Finland," he said after going second quickest in qualifying. "The shakedown road was bloody fast this morning, but I like it. I really like it.
"This is the first time we have been here with these cars, so we don't have any setup data to work from, but the car has been working well. There's no stress around here."
