David Brabham, Highcroft Acura, Sebring qualifying 2009American Le Mans Series team Highcroft Racing has confirmed it will continue in the category in 2010, regardless of whether Acura continues with its US-based LMP1 programme.

Team boss Duncan Dayton told AUTOSPORT magazine this week that the squad remains committed to sportscar racing and its goal of ultimately winning the Le Mans 24 Hours.

"We are working on racing with Acura next year until someone tells us otherwise," said Dayton. "If Acura does not come back there are a couple of other options we can pursue. We will still be racing in the ALMS next year."

Rival Acura squad De Ferran Motorsports announced at Mid-Ohio that it intends to expand into the IndyCar Series next season, and Dayton added his team remained interested in branching into the single-seater series.

"We'd like to partcipate, because the [Indianapolis] 500 is the greatest race in America and we'd like to grow Highcroft into one of the top teams in the US."
