Mike Hezemans topped qualifying for Britain's round of the FIA GT1 World Championship at Silverstone today.
The Dutchman took the pole for the Selleslagh-run Team China Chevrolet squad with a 1m58.967s lap. That put him less than two tenths of a second ahead of Michael Krumm in the best of the JR Motorsports Nissan GT-Rs.
Hezemans, who lost pole after a procedural error at the Sachsenring GT1 World round last month, said: "This is my third pole at Silverstone, but to be honest I don't know where I found that time. When I saw a 1m58s, I thought, 'That's nice!'"
The two Young Driver Aston Martin DBR9s have blocked out the second row for this afternoon's qualifying race, Tomas Enge and Stefan Mucke ending up third and fourth in the times respectively.
Richard Westbrook took fifth place in the second JRM Nissan ahead of the two GT-Rs run by the sister Sumo Power team.
