Champ Car and IndyCar Series race winner Bryan Herta is hoping to enter a car in next year's Indianapolis 500 with his Bryan Herta Autosport team. BHA, which competed in Firestone Indy Lights this past season, initially worked in partnership with Vision Racing, but the team is now moving into its own premises, using the former Fernandez Racing facility in Indianapolis. As part of this expansion, Herta and team co-owner Steve Newey are looking to get into the Indy 500 field. BHA submitted an Indy entry this year, but was unable to put a program together.

"Moving to our own facility is the next logical step in building the foundation for our expansion plans," said Newey. "We are looking forward to the 2010 season as we have a very competitive program in place. In addition to competing in Firestone Indy Lights, we are pursuing the opportunity to enter a car in the Indianapolis 500."

BHA's main driver, Daniel Herrington, took a race win and seventh place in the Indy Lights standings this season.
