DPR GP2 racer Michael Herck will make a return to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series at the Hungaroring this weekend.
The Monaco-domiciled Belgian, who last competed in a part season in the category in 2007, will replace Romanian Mihai Marinescu at Interwetten.com Racing.
Herck is no stranger to extra curriculum racing over his regular GP2 activities, as the 20-year-old has already taken in a round of the Euroseries 3000 championship at Portimao this season.
A spokeswoman for Interwetten confirmed that the deal was of a short-term term nature, intended to prepare Herck for the GP2 event at the circuit next month.
Herck is the second GP2 driver to join the championship in Hungary, following the announcement last week that Italian Edoardo Mortara will race for SG Formula.
