Nick HeidfeldFormer Formula 1 driver Nick Heidfeld is returning to the Rebellion Racing LMP1 squad in 2013. Heidfeld has been announced as one of the Anglo-Swiss team's six drivers for the 2013 season, which includes full-season assaults on the World Endurance Championship and the American Le Mans Series with its fleet of Lola-Toyota B12/60s.

The lineups for the two campaigns have not been announced, but it is known that the 35-year-old German, who contested three events with Rebellion in 2012, will take part in a full program of races.

Rebellion has also announced that Chinese driver Congfu "Frankie" Cheng is returning to the team after a one-off at last year's Shanghai WEC finale and that Nicolas Prost has been retained for a fifth season.

Heidfeld, Cheng and Prost join Neel Jani, Andrea Belicchi and team newcomer Mathias Beche, last year's European Le Mans Series champion.

Rebellion has also revealed that, in addition to its one-car assaults on the ALMS and the WEC, it will field second cars in the Sebring 12 Hours in March and, subject to gaining entries, the first three World Championship rounds up to and including the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.

"We are fortunate to benefit from a talented and experienced pool of drivers again this year," Rebellion team manager Bart Hayden said. "I'm convinced that they will all do a great job and work well together."
