Patrick HeadWilliams F1's Patrick Head and former CART IndyCar boss Andrew Craig have been appointed to the FIA Endurance Commission, which is responsible for organizing the World Endurance Championship for 2012.

Eight-time grand prix winner and Le Mans legend Jacky Ickx join Williams F1 team princip[al head and the former CART president on he commission, alongside Yoshiki Hiyama of Japan. The ACO, which will promote the WEC, also has four representatives including Pierre Fillon and Gerard Neveu.

Audi Sport boss Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich meanwhile will stand for the manufacturers on the 12-man Commission, while Felbermayr's Christian Reid is the teams' representative. Sir Lindsay Owen-Jones will preside over the commission.

The 2012 season will consist of seven events, with two each planned for the Americas, Europe and Asia in addition to the 24 Hours of Le Mans on June 16-17.
