Hyundai World Rally Championship test driver Juho Hanninen intends to continue competing in an M-Sport Ford alongside his duties for the Korean firm.
Hanninen's role with the build-up to Hyundai's WRC return was confirmed earlier this week. The Finn will also contest his home WRC round with M-Sport, having driven for the squad in the first two rallies of the season. He also hopes to fit in one more round before the end of the season.
Hanninen got the Hyundai chance after winning the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, WRC S2000 class and European Rally Championship for Skoda in successive years as he developed the firm's Fabia S2000.
"I think my time with Skoda definitely helped me to this position," said Hanninen. "I worked a lot developing that car and now I am looking forward to doing the same with Hyundai, but now this is the world championship. I am very happy that Hyundai has given me this responsibility. For my career it's a big boost, but also it gives me a lot of pride to be here.
"The car is good. And as well as this, the team in Alzenau are really professional; you look at the guys on the engine, the chassis, everything is really at the top level. The set-up is really impressive and this gives good confidence for the future.
"I will be very busy with testing. But, I don't just want this to be testing, I want to be completely involved with every part of this project. I am fully committed to this."
